Me and my husband had been living alone since after we got married. It’s been 3 years. Recently my father-in-law retired; and he and mother in law have decided that they will stay will us for 6-7 months. The problem is that they have started suggesting that they want a grand-kid. But they do not say anything in front of my husband, only in front of me. Me and my husband had initially decided to wait for 5 years at least, since we both are young, and financially we would like to become a little more stable before starting a family. I have told my in-laws about this, but they just brush aside the point. I do not want to create a problem between husband and in-laws by complaining to him. How do I deal with this situation directly?

If you are not ready to start a family, then its yours and your husband’s decision only! noone else has any right to comment on it. Just ignore and keep living your life like normal!

I hope you were able to get this resolved! I had the same issue when we had gottn married, In our particular family, everyone is told to start a family within a year of getting married. But I was in middle of a career advancement and me and hubby decided to wait.
Man! My own mother would call up everyday and tell me to stop being so stubborn. those were difficult days. But with my hubby’;s support, we persisted.
You know, the strength is in knowing that the one most important person of your life is with you, rest everyone can go, eat their meals. 😛
