I and my boyfriend have been in live-in relationship for five years. I recently found out that I am pregnant. I want to keep this baby, but my partner has threatened that he will leave me if I keep the baby. What should I do? I cannot support the baby by myself as I do not earn much. Is there any legal way to get my partner to marry me, or at least support us financially?

Under certain circumstances, Live-In is also considered as marriage if the couple has been living like husband wife for considerable amount of time and if the society understands the same. However, it is a matter of contest as well. The guy can’t force the girl for abortion and it will be an offence if he does so . Appropriate legal action of both civil and criminal nature can be initiated against him. You can connect me directly for more detailed advice.
You have to talk to your partner about it if you really do not want to abort the baby. I support you because getting pregnant was not planned but the decision of making love was both of yours so why should the baby has to suffer because of your mistake. The baby has every right to live and you should let it live. If your partner does not want the baby talk to him and try to convince him. If he gets convinced then well and good, but if he does not then you should leave him and stay with your parents. They will be able to take good care of the baby.
It is a difficult choice. The best answer is to get married because abortion will hurt you, while having the baby without any prior planning will make the baby suffer after the birth. You should talk to your family and marry him. I think he will agree because his main reason if not wanting the baby is the label of marriage society has implemented in everybody’s minds. Once you get married you can stay with him for the rest of your lives and take care of the baby. Moreover, the society will eventually accept your baby and give a place in the society.
Find a good lawyer and file for alimony!

The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 (PWDVA) on the other hand for the purpose of providing protection and maintenance to women says that an aggrieved live-in partner may be granted alimony under the Act.
