Being single, can and how would it effect one’s physical or mental health?
Edit: The question was kind of generic, a thought which had entered my mind.
These days people are putting their dreams and ambitions and their career before marriage. Will this effect them later, mentally, emotionally?
What will happen when they are old and retired and alone, will they regret their decision?

Hi viral, who said being single is bad for health? !!!
Though I myself am happily married, I have a lot of friends / colleagues of all ages who are single (either never married or divorced), and most of them are very happy. Though please note that I said most, and not all. The ones who are single by choice are invariably happier.
It’s important that you settle down only when you are mentally ready and financially stable. But it has to be your own decision, a decision un-influenced by peer or parental pressure.
If you are single because you are not able to find a perfect life partner, then that is a different question entirely!

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood.
I guess loneliness would definitely creep in at a later stage in life. Man is, after all, a social animal. All the things that we do, are ultimately, for getting accepted and getting respected by the society.
Once you reach a point of life wherein you are finally satisfied with your career and you financial status, you would want to sit down and relax with someone close, and not having this ‘someone’ might lead to depression.
